Vauxhall will tease an all-electric 277bhp Astra GSE at the 2026 Paris motor show, running from October 12-18.
The Vauxhall Astra GSE will make its official debut in the latter half of 2027 as the third model to come under the all-electric GSE performance sub-brand, alongside the Mokka GSE and Corsa GSE.
No technical details beyond the power output have been announced. But given both the Corsa and Mokka GSE share the same front-mounted 277bhp electric motor, the Vauxhall Astra GSE is expected to follow a similar hardware setup. That would include a Torsen mechanical limited-slip differential, high performance Alcon brakes and bespoke chassis tuning.
Vauxhall has already given glimpses of how the GSE will look, however, with early images of the new GSE Line, which will debut at the Paris show.
While GSE Line cars will use the same 154bhp motor and 54kWh battery as the regular Astra, they will benefit from a series of aesthetic changes to bring them in line with the sporting GSE ethos. This is an approach not dissimilar to Volkswagen’s R-Line or Ford’s ST-Line of cars.
Externally, GSE Line visual updates will include inserts beneath Vauxhall’s signature ‘Vizor’ front end, GSE Line wording on the bumper, and two-tone, diamond-cut 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the seats, steering wheel, door inserts, and centre armrest are trimmed in bright GSE yellow, while sports seats will be an optional extra when the car goes on sale in spring next year. Full specifications, pricing, and options will also be announced around the same time. The Astra GSE Line trim level will be available on Astra Electric, plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and mild hybrid models.
