Porsche Cayenne Electric to be unveiled on November 19
Porsche has announced that it will finally reveal the new all-electric Cayenne this month in a “double premiere”.
The much-anticipated flagship SUV will first be revealed in an online broadcast on November 19 before making its public debut at the the fifth Icons of Porsche festival in Dubai on November 22-23.
The Cayenne is Porsche’s third all-electric model and will go on sale in 2026 to sit alongside the Taycan and Macan Electric. Unlike Porsche’s other two EVs, the Cayenne will be sold in parallel with an updated version of the current ICE version, rather than supersede it.
Porsche says it will “set new standards” for the SUV segment, with “outstanding driving dynamics, excellent long-distance comfort, uncompromising off-road capability and the efficiency of modern e-mobility”.
The new Cayenne Electric is based on the same PPE platform as the Macan, and Audi Q6 e-tron, with 800V architecture promising exceptional levels of performance, range and charging.
Full technical details will be confirmed on November 19 but it is thought that the most potent versions of the Cayenne Electric could produce close to 1,000bhp from a two-motor set up shared with the quickest versions of the Taycan. Lesser versions are still expected to adopt a two-motor setup as standard, with at least 400bhp.
Porsche has confirmed that the new Cayenne Electric uses a 108kWh battery with cell-to-body technology to integrate it into the car’s structure for weight saving and better rigidity. It claims this will offer up 373 miles of range. It will also charge at up to 400kW, allowing a 10-80% top-up in just 16 minutes.
In addition, the Cayenne will be the first production car to support wireless charging. Through the optional Porsche Wireless Charging (PWC) system, owners will be able to charge at up to 11kW via a floor-mounted pad and receiver under the vehicle.
In terms of design, Porsche has shared some early images which show a neater, cleaner look but one that’s still clearly a Cayenne. The Cayenne Electric is longer than the existing ICE model and takes advantage of its EV platform to offer more interior space.
Inside, the new Cayenne gets the biggest screen array ever fitted to a Porsche. The Flow Display curves from one side of the dashboard to the other, incorporating digital instruments, a central touchscreen and secondary screen in front of the passenger.
For the first time, the Cayenne gets electrically adjustable rear seats as standard and new “Mood Modes” adjust light, climate, sound and seat functions to create different “atmospheres”.
Porsche says the new Cayenne is its most customisable model yet. Customers can choose from 13 interior colour combinations, four interior packages and five accent packages. There are also four leather variants to choose from, plus a Rae-Tex leather-free finish.
Full details and specifications will be confirmed at 2pm on November 19, so be sure to check back on EV Powered then.
