Polestar Charge expands UK network to nearly 6,000 chargers

Polestar has almost doubled the size of its charging network in the UK after signing agreements with a number of new providers.

The Polestar Charge service has added 2,754 new devices to its subscription programme, giving UK Polestar owners discounted access to 5,854 high-powered chargers around the country.

The move represents an 89% increase in chargers covered by the subscription programme, which now encompasses ultra-rapid devices from Ionity, Sainsbury’s, Instavolt, MFG, Fastned and Applegreen.

Matt Galvin, managing director of Polestar UK, said: “Our convenient Polestar Charge now provides Polestar drivers in the UK greater coverage across the country and a more personalised offering.

“With networks like Ionity, Sainsburys and Instavolt included in the 30% saving, we now offer 5,854 charging points in one app, meaning charging on the go is easier and more affordable than ever.”

Along with the UK chargers, the updated Polestar Charge offering gives Polestar owners seamless access to more than 900,000 individual chargers across Europe – a 54% increase on the previous network. The number of sites where owners enjoy the 30% discount has also increased by around 50%, with more than 62,000 charge points across 41 different operators covered by the price reduction.

The Polestar Charge service integrates with the on-board Google Maps service to locate and navigate to suitable chargers and, in the Polestar 3, supports the cardless plug and charge technology.
