MFG EV Power hits 1,000th ultra-fast charger milestone
MFG installed its 1,000th EV Power ultra-fast charger in the UK in July 2025, meaning it now represents 12% of the country’s ultra-fast charging network across 170 hubs.
MFG launched its EV Power brand in March 2021, and has committed approximately £400 million to install some 3,000 ultra-fast 150kW, 300kW, and 400kW charge points across 500 sites nationwide by 2030.
In April 2024, MFG purchased 337 Morrisons supermarket petrol station forecourts and 400 development plots in the supermarket chain’s carparks. Since the acquisition, MFG has instally 66 ultra-fast EV charging bays in Morrisons supermarkets with 150 bays to follow over the next three months.
The firm is installing devices at a rate of 20 per week and has more than 150 chargers within the M25 – seen as a key region for public charging.
MFG sees the investment necessary, as more than 60% of homes in cities and urban areas do not have garages of off-road parking provisions. Therefore, EV drivers living in them must rely on electricity from public charge points, where charging costs can reach up to 0.79p/kWh. Home charging, meanwhile can be done for as little as 6.7p/kWh.
Regarding EV Power’s 1000th charge point achievement, MFG CEO, William Bannister said: “When we launched our EV roll-out in March 2021 we committed to investing ahead of the curve in ultra-rapid chargers. I am therefore delighted that we have already passed the 1,000 ultra-rapid charger milestone.
“Not only are we rolling out chargers at a rapid pace, we are also ensuring that the customer experience is of the highest quality both through the ease of use of our chargers but also through the upgrade of our adjacent convenience retail, food service and vehicle valeting offer – investing £170m in 2025 alone.
“Our commitment to EV is unwavering and I look forward to the continued growth of our network as MFG meets the national EV infrastructure requirement.”
The latest data from Zapmap shows there are now over 82,000 public charge points across the country, with 8,000 of them installed since the year began.
