Kia EV2 compact SUV to debut at 2026 Brussels Motor Show
Kia has confirmed that it will debut its all-electric EV2 compact SUV at the Brussels Motor Show on January 09, 2026.
At its annual EV day in February this year, the South Korean carmaker teased a visual of its Renault R4 and Citroen e-C3 Aircross rival, which is pictured below.
As of now, details are scant surrounding the Kia EV2 are scarce but we do know it will ride on the same E-GMP platform as the larger Kia EV3 and EV4. Battery choices are likely to be a 55kWh NMC unit or a smaller 40kWh LFP pack.
The EV2 will be built at Kia’s AutoLand factory in Žilina, Slovakia. What’s more, the EV2 will be the second all-electric Kia to be built in Europe. The EV4 hatchback became the first Euro-made earlier in 2025.
With just five weeks to go until the Kia EV2 makes its debut, Kia Europe president and CEO, Mark Hedrich, commented: “With the EV2, we reaffirm our commitment to make electric mobility truly accessible to a broader audience and without compromise.
“This compact SUV delivers the innovation and the spirit of our larger EVs while fitting seamlessly into everyday life in Europe.”
As well as the fact that the EV2 won’t be sold at home in South Korea, Hedrich confirmed that the EV2 will be built and developed to local European tastes in terms of vehicle dynamics.
“Designed, developed, and soon to be produced in Europe, we are confident that the EV2 will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of responsible mobility across the region,” he added.
The Kia EV2 reveal will take place from 10:40am to 11:00am (GMT +1) at Kia’s stand in Hall 5, Booth 3 at Brussels Expo in the Belgian capital. Kia will also showcase performance-focused GT versions of its EV3 compact crossover, EV4 hatchback, and mid-sized EV5 SUV.
Following Press Day on January 09, the Brussels Motor Show will open to the public the following day and conclude eight days later on January 18.
