InstaVolt extends 50p/kWh Summer Special charging rate to three more UK sites

Charge point operator InstaVolt has rolled out its Summer Special off-peak tariff to three additional sites in the East Midlands, Exeter, and Southampton until August 31, 2025.

The Summer Special deal

was introduced at its Winchester Superhub earlier this year, and allows users with the InstaVolt app or RFID car to charge their vehicles for as little as 0.50p per kWh.

Meanwhile, those paying via contactless car or mobile roaming can still charge or top up their EV for an equally-competitive 54p/kWh. Irrespective of charging method, these off-peak prices are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

However, when the deal ends at the end of August, prices will return to the standard rate of 0.87p/kWh during peak hours from 8pm to 7am.

The sites to most recently benefit from the cut rate are the six-charging hub on Normanton Road in Derby, the eight-charger site at the Gissons Hotel in Kenford, Exeter, and the four-charger site at the Purlieu Centre on Southampton’s Hardley industrial estate.

InstaVolt introduced its cut-price rates at its flagship Winchester Superhub towards the end of June this year. The programme proved a success, and then rolled it out to three further locations – Syon Park in West London, and the Bodmin Hub at the Bodmin Retail Park in Cornwall.

InstaVolt is the UK’s largest ultra-rapid charging network returning charging speeds of up to 160kW with over 2,133 chargers across more than 250 sites nationwide – each of which is powered 100% by renewable energy.

By 2030, InstaVolt aims to have installed 11,000 chargers across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. With 44 160kW ultra-rapid EV chargers and 870 on-site solar panels with a 500kW capacity, InstaVolt’s Winchester SuperHub has been shortlisted for the EV Infrastructure Project of the Year at the 2025 Solar & Storage Live Awards.
