Honda N-One e previews UK-bound Super EV

Honda will be bringing its all-electric Super EV to the UK in 2026, to compete with the likes of the Dacia Spring, Leapmotor T03 and Renault Twingo.

When it arrives, the Honda Super EV will be based on the N-One e:, a Kei Car recently launched for the Japanese domestic market (JDM). The Super EV will share the same tall, boxy form as the N-One e:, along with its flat bonnet and round headlights.

However, the UK car, which was previewed at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, comes with wider wheel arches than the JDM machine, along with cooling and aero ducts in the bottom half of the front bumper, plus a charging cap between the headlights.

The Honda N-One e: comes with the 63bhp motor and battery borrowed from the 2024 N-Van:e. The Super EV is expected to follow suit.

The N-One e: is powered by a tiny 29.3kWh battery returning a WLTP-estimated range of 183 miles. The lithium-ion unit is capable of accepting a 50kW DC fast charge, and will take 4.5 hours at 6kW for a full charge. Honda confirmed that the JDM N-One e: will feature vehicle-to-home (V2H) capability and one-pedal driving.

Inside, the JDM Honda N-One E: adopts a digital driver display, plus a dashboard featuring a full-width shelf for small items such as wallets. The second-row seats can fold and slide, and the seat cushions can be lifted independently for tall objects, like in the larger Honda Jazz. Physical controls are also evident, while higher-end cars will come with a dash-mounted 9-inch infotainment screen.

Serving as a replacement for the loveable-yet-flawed Honda e, the Super EV will be part of Honda’s EV blitz. By 2030, it aims to launch seven all-electric vehicles as part of its 0 Series of cars, including another small SUV next year, a seven-seat SUV, plus a compact saloon.

Honda has yet to announce prices for the Super EV. The N-One e: starts from around ¥2.7 million (around £13,250) in Japan and we would expect this tiny EV to target incoming city cars such as the Renault Twingo and next-gen Dacia Spring in the sub-£20,000 bracket.
