Andersen adds Intelligent Octopus Go and gives drivers 5,000 free miles

High-end UK home charger firm Andersen has partnered with Octopus Energy to integrate the electricity provider’s dynamic EV tariff into its wallboxes.

Drivers can now take advantage of the adaptive Intelligent Octopus Go tariff via their Andersen chargers, allowing them to enjoy electricity costs as low as 7p/kWh throughout the day.

Intelligent Octopus Go monitors energy prices in real time and automatically charges connected vehicles when energy is cheapest throughout the day, rather than being limited to set overnight schedules. Octopus estimates that a driver doing 10,000 miles a year could save up to £585 by switching to its tariff.

The new partnership means that most Andersen chargers, including the A3, Quartz and Quartz Vision are now compatible with the dynamic charging tariff. Single-phase versions of the flagship A2 made after August 2023 are also compatible. Existing Andersen owners can simply sign up to the tariff and begin charging.

To mark the tie-up, drivers who buy a new Andersen charger and sign up for Intelligent Octopus Go will receive the equivalent of 5,000 miles’ charging (£106) credited to their Octopus account.

David Martell, Andersen’s chief executive, said: “This marks a new milestone to further offer Andersen customers access to low-cost energy tariffs and choice across UK energy providers. Intelligent Octopus Go is the UK’s most popular EV tariff and integration has been a key target at Andersen for some time. We’re delighted to confirm that we now offer this intelligent charging tariff.”
