Leapmotor B05 hatch to make UK debut at 2026 Manchester Motor Show
The all-electric Leapmotor B05 hatchback will make its UK debut at the first-ever Manchester Motor Show, which is scheduled for January 10 next year.
Measuring up at a class-leading 4.4m long and 1.8m wide, the Leapmotor B05 is the Chinese carmaker’s first C-segment hatchback, and is expected to undercut rivals such as the Kia EV4, the Renault Mégane, and the Volkswagen ID.3 with a sub-£30k price tag.
Leapmotor hasn’t revealed any images of the B05’s interior, but it is expected to follow the screen-heavy, high-quality approach of the full-sized C10 and the smaller B10 SUVs. The same can be said for technical details, but it is expected that the B05 will share the same powertrain as the latter car.
That would mean a front-mounted motor producing 215bhp, a 0-62mph time of eight seconds, and a 105mph top speed. The B10 is available with a 67.1kWh battery capable of 270 miles. We’d expect the sleeker B05 to improve on that and offer closer to 300 miles on a charge.
Alongside the Leapmotor B05, Leapmotor will also be showcasing the C10, B10, and its T03 city car at the Manchester event.
Leapmotor will not be the only Stellantis-owned brand on-site, as the automotive giant plans a multi-marque assault on the upcoming Manchester Motor Show. In terms of EVs, Vauxhall will bring along its 276bhp Mokka GSE, its Special Stage-ready sibling, the Mokka GSE Rally, and the new Astra.
Peugeot’s Polygon Concept, a vehicle previewing the next-generation 208 with its revolutionary ‘Hypersquare’, will also be on display as Peugeot seeks to redefine the steering wheel and create a more immersive all-electric driving experience for motorists.
Finally, Citroën will be celebrating its Formula E entry with a dedicated showcase. Undergoing somewhat of a renaissance on the back of its electrification drive, the French brand will have its new ë-C3 Aircross and ë-C3 van on display, along with the recently released ë-C5 Aircross SUV, and the updated Ami Buggy.
The Manchester Motor Show is free to enter and will be held at the Manchester Central Convention Complex from 9am to 5pm on January 10.
