Fiat and Abarth slash EV prices by up to £4,000

Fiat has announced major price cuts on its electric models for 2026, making the 500e one of the cheapest EVs on sale.

The Italian car maker has slashed prices across the 500e, 600e and the Abarth performance variants of both models.

The price reductions replace the previous £3,000 Fiat E-Grant with immediate effect and knock up to £4,000 off the all-electric models.

Prices for the 500e city car now start at £20,995 – a saving of £4,040 which brings the 500e directly in line with the inbound Grande Panda. For that, buyers get the smaller 24kWh battery with a range of 118 miles. The larger 42kWh battery gives up to 199 miles of range and costs from £23,995.

The larger Fiat 600e SUV now starts at £26,750, which represents a £3,285 saving and brings it closer to rivals such as the Renault 4.

The sporty Abarth variants of both models are also covered by the latest price cuts. The entry-level Abarth 500e has been discounted by £1,990 to £27,995, while the higher-spec Turismo model enjoys a larger saving of £2,990 to bring its starting price down to £30,995.

The Abarth 600e now costs from £33,995 for the less-powerful standard version, with its 236bhp motor. Meanwhile the range-topping Scorpionissima, with its 276bhp and mechanical LSD, comes in at £37,995 – a saving of £1,890 over its previous list price.

Fiat UK marketing director, Victoria Hatfield, said: “Fiat is passionately committed to making electrified driving more accessible to customers, and with this new pricing structure for our fully electric line-up of vehicles we are starting the new year by making this transition more affordable and straightforward for drivers.

“There are no complications with Fiat. With our transparent pricing policies drivers can simply choose from our range of award-winning models to enjoy Italian style and affordable electric motoring.”

The cuts are the latest in a line of price reductions by Fiat/Abarth and come ahead of the arrival of the much-delayed Grande Panda, which is finally due to hit the UK “imminently”, according to Fiat. That new city car partner to the 500e will have the same £20,995 starting price for the Pop model and offer 111bhp and a 199-mile range from a 44kWh battery. Icon versions of the Grande Panda are priced at £21,995 and the top-of-the-range La Prima costs from £24,035.
