Toyota Urban Cruiser price and spec announced
Toyota has confirmed that its Urban Cruiser compact EV will go on sale on December 1 priced from £29,995.
The smallest model in Toyota’s expanding EV line-up, the Urban Cruiser is positioned to compete with the Skoda Elroq, Kia EV3, Volvo EX30 and the closely related Suzuki E Vitara.
From launch the Urban Cruiser will be available in three trims and with two battery/motor options. Prices start at £29,995 for the Icon grade equipped with the smaller 49kWh battery. That is matched to a 106kW motor and returns up to 213 miles of range.
Icon models include 18-inch alloy wheels, a 10.1-inch multimedia display, 10.25-inch digital instrument display, smartphone mirroring and adaptive cruise control as standard. They also feature air conditioning with an energy-saving heat pump, a rear view camera and driver assistance including blind spot monitor, lane trace assist and road sign assist.
Above that the Design trim costs from £33,495 and comes as standard with the larger 61kWh battery and more powerful 128kW motor. The larger battery delivers up to 264 miles of range but offers DC charging limited to just 67kW.
Design models add heated front seats and steering wheel, auto-retracting heated door mirrors and a windscreen wiper de-icer to the Icon spec.
At the top of the range, the Urban Cruiser Excel is priced from £35,745, uses the larger and more powerful battery and motor combination and brings a host of extra equipment. The alloy wheels are upgraded to 19-inch designs, and a premium JBL sound system, wireless smartphone charger, a sunroof and part synthetic leather upholstery are added. The Excel grade also brings LED headlights with adaptive high-beam, a surround view camera and the option of metallic or bi-tone paint finish as an option.
Unlike the Suzuki E Vitara on which it is based, the Urban Cruiser does not offer an all-wheel-drive option.
Orders for the new Urban Cruiser open on Monday December 1, with customer deliveries due to begin in quarter one of 2026.
