Single-make Alpine A290 Rally Trophy to begin in November
The Alpine A290 Rallye will make its competition debut at the French Rallye National de l’Indre, marking the launch of the one-make Alpine A290 Rally Trophy.
Following several public appearances including the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Alpine A290 Rallye‘s first ‘proper’ race on the weekend of November 8-9 will pit 16 identical cars together in a dedicated one-make series called the Alpine A290 Rally Trophy.
In 2026, the Alpine A290 Rally Trophy calendar will comprise six events of the French Rally Championship, and the series could expand to further countries beyond France in the future.
In addition to an on-site parts supply, the Alpine A290 Rally Trophy promises “a dedicated setting, featuring environmentally-friendly charging solutions, and technical assistance”. EV Powered has reached out to the French carmaker for further information on the matter.
At the same time, the Alpine A290 Regional Trophy will be open to A290 Rallye owners wanting to compete in certain local rallies and hillclimb events. An open event aimed at enthusiasts, there is no cap on the numbers of entrants able to compete.
Alpine will cover the costs of the Rally de l’Indre winners’ 2026 A290 Rally Trophy programme, and also give them a one-off factory drive in the French Rally Championship behind the wheel of an Alpine A110 Rally.

To bolster the visibility of the series, each crew will partner with an Alpine dealership. In terms of prizes, the Alpine A290 Rally Trophy will offer €19,200 worth of prize packages divided between performance bonuses and spare parts vouchers.
In 2026, the winners’ prize sum will increase to €236,000, while A290 Regional Trophy title protagonists will compete for an €46,000 prize fund.
Alpine’s first all-electric race car, the A290 Rallye is based on the roadgoing GTS model, with both cars sharing the same front-mounted, 217bhp motor. However, the Rallye gets a ZF limited slip differential for better traction and improved handling.
Further changes to the A290 Rallye include a bespoke suspension setup and improved six-piston brake callipers. The ABS system has been replaced with a dedicated race system, and there’s a hydraulic handbrake for getting around tight hairpins.
As a reminder of its rally stage-tackling credentials, the Alpine A290 Rallye gets purpose-built 8×18-inch EVO Corse wheels paired with Michelin Pilot Sport A tyres, an FIA-approved roll cage, Sabelt bucket seats, and an external sound generator.
Now on sale, the Alpine A290 Rallye is priced from €59,990, excluding VAT.
