Kia has announced that pricing for its all-electric EV3 GT crossover will start from £48,695, with UK order books now open.
This sporty version of the South Korean firm’s best-selling UK EV gets a twin-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup generating 288bhp and a 0-62bhp time of 5.7 seconds. However, it is quite a bit more expensive than some of its immediate rivals, including the £41k Volvo EX30 Twin-Motor, the £44k Smart #1 Brabus, and the award-winning £47k Škoda Elroq vRS.
The Volvo, the Smart, and the Škoda also have the Kia beaten in terms of power. The #1 and the EX30 both pack 422bhp, while the Skoda trails both with 355 bhp. Like the Kia, each of them pack a twin-motor, AWD powertrain.

Nonetheless, Kia says that the smallest model in its performance-focused GT line-up isn’t just about big numbers. Under the slightly more aggressive bodywork, the EV3 GT’s dynamics have been developed to provide a more rewarding driving experience over its competitors.
The changes include Kia’s Virtual Gear Shift (VGS) system, which uses steering wheel paddle shifters to shift through the ‘virtual’ gearbox. Like its big brother, the EV4 GT performance hatch and the closely-related Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N, the EV3 GT gets a simulated engine note and throttle mapping to emulate a combustion-engined car. Both South Korean carmakers say this is to boost driver engagement.

Additional changes include new GT-only adaptive dampers and dedicated sports tyres fitted with larger, two-tone 20-inch wheels. The EV3 GT’s brake callipers are also coloured neon green; the GT range’s signature colour. To separate the GT from the regular EV3 even further, the GT’s cabin comes with a smattering of neon green detailing and model-specific artificial suede and leather bucket seats. Again, these are offset with contrasting green stitching
In terms of options, white is the EV3 GT’s standard colour, but others are available from £650 to £1,500 for the GT-only Lithium Matt Silver.

Like higher-end EV3 models, the EV3 GT draws its power from a 81.4kWh battery. However, the addition of the second, 94bhp rear-mounted motor reduces range from 375 miles to 311 miles. The EV3’s 400V electrical architecture means that the GT’s fast-charging speed remains unchanged from other 81kWh battery cars at 135kW. This translates into a 10-80% charge in up to 33 minutes.
The EV3 GT has arrived in the UK at the same time as the EV4 GT and the EV5 GT SUV, which are priced from £49,345 and £54,295 respectively. Kia’s GT range is its performance arm, and was established with the EV6 GT. Introduced in 2025, the EV6 GT shares the same underpinnings as the 641bhp Ioniq 5 N and starts at £60,035.
