Kia EV2 teaser images give first glimpse of entry-level city car
Kia has shared the first images of its new EV2 model ahead of the brand’s second ‘EV Day’ later this month.
The Kia EV2 is set to become the brand’s entry-level electric car when it goes on sale in 2026, and is expected to be an electric city car to challenge the Renault 5, Citroen E-C3 and Hyundai Inster.
The first images of the EV2 Concept don’t give much away but suggest the baby Kia will adopt a similar design theme to the brand’s larger EVs. Front end elements mimic the grille and lower bumper of cars like the EV3 and slimline headlights appear to continue the ‘star map’ motif that debuted on the EV9.
An image of the car’s rear flanks suggest the wheels will be pushed right out to the corners and it will display a slightly softer shape than existing models while retaining SUV-inspired body cladding.
Technical details are still under wraps but it is thought that the EV2 will sit on the E-GMP platform used in the EV3, EV6 and EV9, rather than the K1 system that underpins the Inster city car from sister brand Hyundai.
The Kia EV2 Concept will be unveiled in Tarragona, Spain on February 27 at the second global Kia EV Day.
Kia EV Day 2005 will also mark the global debut of the EV4 fastback and PV5 van.
New images of the EV4 suggest that the production car will stick very closely to the sleek, angular concept car shown at Kia’s last EV Day in 2023. The EV4 is set to offer a fastback companion to the EV3 SUV at the more affordable end of the Kia range. As such, it is expected to use the same 201bhp motor, 58.3kWh or 81.4kWh batteries and 400V architecture as the EV3, rather than the 800V system in the larger EV6.

The PV5 is Kia’s first ever van and will be used to showcase its new PBV commercial electric vehicle platform that will eventually underpin PV3 and PV7 models. Teaser images of the PV5 – which has already been widely displayed in concept form – suggest it too will stick very closely to the preview model and Kia’s futuristic angular design. Technical details for the Ford Transit Custom and VW Transporter rival are set to be confirmed at EV Day 2025, along with more details about Kia’s broader electric vehicle strategy.
