Hyundai Inster Cross price and specification revealed

Hyundai UK has announced prices and specifications for its inbound Inster Cross.

The Hyundai Inster Cross is an ‘adventurous’ variant of the regular all-electric city car and brings a host of design upgrades for a more rugged appearance.

Orders are open now with a starting price of £28,745 – £2,000 more than the previous top-spec 02 version.

The Inster is Hyundai’s smallest and most affordable EV so far, aiming to bridge the gap between ultra-budget models like the Dacia Spring and Leapmotor T03, and the host of more expensive hatchbacks and crossovers such as the BYD Dolphin, Mini Cooper and Kia EV3.

The Inster Cross packs the same 49kWh battery and 114bhp motor as the higher-grade ‘02’ version of the Inster. That offers city-friendly acceleration and up to 223 miles of driving range.

Setting it apart from the Inster 01 and 02, the Inster Cross features bespoke 17-inch alloy wheels, new front and rear bumpers, unique Cross side skirts and embossed black body cladding. It also gets roof rails and body coloured mirrors and door handles, along with a unique grey and lime green interior finish and the option of exclusive Amazons Green Matte.

Cosmetic changes aside, the Inster Cross also builds on the regular 02 specification with an electric glass sunroof and a parking camera with guidance system. It also upgrades the driver assistance suite with a host of functions including blind spot collision avoidance assist, surround view monitor and parking collision avoidance assistance when reversing.

In common with the Inster 02, the Inster Cross gets two 10.25-inch digital displays, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats and steering wheel, keyless entry, full LED lighting, a heat pump and front and rear parking sensors. Customers can also specify the ‘tech pack’ with vehicle-to-load functionality with an internal three-pin plug, and a Digital Key.
