Hyundai facelifts Ioniq 6 and confirms at performance-focused 6 N’s July ’25 arrival
Hyundai has revealed a mid-life update for its Ioniq 6 EV streamliner at Seoul Mobility Week, and confirmed its performance-focused Ioniq 6 N will debut in July.
A newly-introduced black trim on the improved Ioniq 6’s lower body breaks up the bulk of the outgoing car. Meanwhile, a new front end ushers in separate slim daytime running lights and main headlights to create a wider, more contemporary apperance than before. The South Korean manufacturer has also tidied up the rear section of the Ioniq 6, and the divisive spoiler of the outgoing-gen has been replaced with a neater, ‘ducktail’ solution.
The sportier ‘N-Line’ Ioniq 6 receives a blacked-out rear inspired by the Hyundai RN22e Rolling Lab experimental vehicle. Wing-inspired front and rear bumpers with what appear to be air dams either side provide a wider, more performance-focused aesthetic. The N-Line car model appears to get the N-badged steering wheel borrowed from the all-electric Ioniq 5 N.

Across the range, the Ioniq 6’s cabin has been updated to include a refined centre console with improved usability, a bigger climate control display, and higher-quality materials throughout.
Fans of Hyundai’s sporty N division will have noticed there is what appears to be the tail of the upcoming Ioniq 6 N lurking in the updated car’s promo shots.

While Hyundai has confirmed a July 2025 arrival for its Ioniq 6 performance flagship, it has yet to mention a date and/or a location. However, the Korean Car Blog touted this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed as an official launch via its Instagram page live from the Seoul Mobility Week. Despite the interior and exterior changes, Hyundai did not provide any technical details about its updated Ioniq 6 or 6 N.
The updated Ioniq 6 and incoming Ioniq 6 N once again highlight Hyundai’s current purple patch in the EV world. Seoul Mobility week also saw it unveil its Insteroid EV concept, which features a Group B rally car-style rear wing, 21-inch aero wheels, and a video game-inspired design ethos. Seoul Mobility Week runs from April 3 to April 13.
