Mercedes VAN.EA teases all-new range of luxury electric vans

Mercedes-Benz has given the first glimpse of its next generation of luxury all-electric vans.

The German manufacturer’s upcoming electric models will be based on its dedicated new VAN.EA platform, which it says will set a new course for a completely new era of vans.

The switch to the new modular and scalable architecture is intended to create a “clear differentiation between privately positioned vans in the luxury segment and commercial vans in the premium segment”. In other words these won’t just be eVitos with some nice leather seats in them.

Indeed, these will replace the existing eVito as the brand’s premium people carriers. Mercedes says the next-gen models will offer a portfolio of high-end private uses, ranging from family vans for the well-heeled to exclusive VIP shuttles for high-end hotels and spacious limousines ‘catering to the expectations of highly sophisticated customers’.

The initial teaser image is of this luxury ‘highly elegant’ limousine which will be revealed in full in spring 2025. Mercedes says that this will herald the dawn of a new era for its vans and showcase how it plans to meet the very highest customer demands.

Mercedes says that its new line-up of luxury vans and people movers will define its unique own segment. We suspect the people behind the LEVC L380, Volvo EM90 and Lexus LM might have something to say about that.
