Farizon SV Taxi and Combi added to eLCV range

Electric van maker Farizon has revealed two new variants of its SV and hinted that they could come to the UK.

The Farizon SV Taxi and Combi were launched at the Hong Kong Auto Expo and the Chinese eLCV maker says they show the inherent flexibility of the van’s GXA-M platform.

The two new models are currently only available in Farizon’s native China but the brand, which launched the SV in the UK earlier this year, says it is assessing their potential in other global markets. It has already secured an order for 1,000 examples of the Taxi from Hong Kong operator Big Bee

The SV Taxi is a seven-seat MPV that aims to offer generous passenger space as well as plenty of luggage storage. It features a 630-litre boot as well as three rows of seats, with charging ports, cupholders and storage boxes in each row. A central walkthrough aisle in the second row gives easy access to the third row of seats.

Farizon SV Combi

The SV Combi is aimed at operators who want a spacious electric van but also need to carry more than the three people the regular SV can accommodate. With a second row of seats, the Combi can be configured in five- or six-seat format ahead of a large cargo area. The Combi is available in L1 or L2 body size. The 5m-long L1 offers up to 3.8 cubic metres of load space behind the two rows of seats. The 5.5m-long L2 boosts that to 5 cubic metres.

We’re waiting for confirmation, but it’s likely that both new variants use the same 228bhp motor as the current SV. Farizon has said that the taxi has a range of up to 370km while the Combi will manage 319km for the Combi, with a 20%-80% charging time of 30 minutes. That suggests the same 106kWh NCM battery as the top-spec UK versions.
