Electric Alpine A110 to break cover in 2026
Alpine has confirmed that it will reveal the first details of its new electric A110 in 2026.
The French performance brand previously announced that the next generation of its revered sports coupe would be going all-electric but timelines and information have been vague.
Now, Alpine CEO Philippe Krief has revealed that the first firm details will come in the first half of the year.
In a video celebrating the marque’s 70th anniversary, Krief said: “2025 was the 70th anniversary of Alpine. There will be a lot more to come in 2026.
“We will present the new strategy for Alpine based on three pillars – where will will have ‘everyday extraordinary’ cars like A290 and A390. The pillar of ‘iconic car’ with the new A110 – and we will reveal some details in 2026. And the third pillar, which is made by the special project [department] and the first one is the A110 Ultime.”

The A110 Ultime is a final lightweight runout edition of the petrol-powered A110 but Krief said its philosophy would carry over to the new A110 electric.
Comparing the Ultime with the original A110 coupe of the 1960s, he commented: “You see the evolution but you also see the DNA, the spirit of the car is still there.
“And this is what we want to do with the next generation – evolve but keep the original DNA and spirit.
“The result is just fantastic and I can tell you that within the first six months of 2026 we will show some really exciting news [about the A110 EV].”

The new A110 electric is set to compete with the all-electric Porsche Cayman, which is due to go on sale next year, and potentially the Caterham Project V.
Technical and design details are still under wraps but earlier this year Krief hinted at the potential performance of the new model.
At the reveal of the A390 in Dieppe, he told journalists the new car would use a rear-mounted two-motor powertrain capable of producing more than 500bhp. He also claimed it would maintain a kerbweight of under 1.5 tonnes and offer up to 373 miles of range – a difficult balance to achieve.
Given the suggestion of two-rear mounted motors, his comments sparked speculation that the A110 electric could use the platform and compact and lightweight motors used in the radical Renault 5 Turbo 3E, which has been developed by Alpine.
