EDF offers EV lease customers 5,000 miles of free motoring

EDF is offering up to 5,000 miles’ worth of charging credit to EV lease customers who sign up for its dedicated EV tariff.

The energy provider has teamed up with Drive Electric to offer the deal to new and existing Drive Electric customers who lease an electric vehicle and commit to GoElectric tariff between now and November 1.

The 5,000 free miles take the form of a £130 account credit which, using GoElectric’s off-peak rates, should provide an average driver with eight months of free motoring.

As standard, the tariff, which is the country’s cheapest fixed EV tariff, comes with five hours of off-peak charging between 12am and 5am, saving £316 compared with the standard variable rate. However, drivers of some models can save up to £251 more using EDF’s Smart Charging bolt-on, which gives access to more off-peak electricity rates by letting EDF automatically charge their EV when electricity is cheapest and greenest.

Rich Hughes, director of retail at EDF said: “We know that lower driving costs are a major attraction for most drivers when switching to electric driving, so we’re pleased, at EDF, to be able to offer customers the full solution.

“At a time when more EVs are becoming eligible for government grants, we’re offering 5,000 free miles up front, along with a comprehensive package that covers leasing, charging, and energy savings. It’s everything drivers need to make the switch to electric driving an easy choice. Additionally, with our recent five-star TrustPilot rating for customer service, customers can feel confident they’re in safe hands.”

The offer is available to anyone who leases an EV via Drive Electric between August 12 and November 1, 2025, and EDF will credit £130 to the customer’s account within 60 days of their EDF GoElectric tariff going live.

Alongside it, drivers are able to save on the upfront cost of a home charger by bundling the purchase and installation price of a Pod Point Solo 3S into their monthly energy bill.
