Arnold Clark launches electric car grant for used models
Car dealership network Arnold Clark has announced its own electric car grant in response to the recently launched government scheme.
As a growing number of manufacturers gain approval and discounts for their brand new EVs under the government Electric Car Grant, the major retailer has launched its own offer on used EVs and home charging equipment.
From now until November 3, customers can secure a £750 discount on any used electric car from Arnold Clark or can save the same value on a home charger when purchasing a used EV from the retailer.
Russell Borrie, Arnold Clark CEO, commented: “To enhance this already amazing deal further, we’ve doubled our EV stock, giving customers an incredible range of electric vehicles to choose from.
“New and existing EV drivers will, of course, be supported by Arnold Clark Charge, our UK-wide EV charging network. These developments all cement our position as industry leaders when it comes to supporting EV infrastructure.”
The UK’s largest independent car retailer recently opened its in-house charging operation to the public for the first time. The network of more than 240 chargers at more than 50 dealer sites was previously only accessible by pre-booking a time and space via the company’s app. Now, drivers can turn up and charge instantly without pre-booking and pay via debit/credit card or various roaming services without signing up for the Arnold Clark app.
The 55p/kWh rate for the 150kW chargers makes the network one of the UK’s cheapest ultra-rapid providers.
