£40,000 Zeekr 7GT squares up to Tesla Model 3
Zeekr has taken the wraps off its all-new 7GT at the Brussels Motor Show.
Zeekr’s answer to the likes of the Tesla Model 3, MG IM5, BMW i4, and the BYD Seal, the Gothenburg-designed 7GT promises “Chinese technology with European design and soul”, and prices starting at €45,990 – the equivalent of around £40,000
Measuring 4.8 metres long and just under 2.1m wide, Zeekr’s five-seater shooting brake rides on 800V architecture with an ultra-rapid charging speed of 480kW, meaning the 7GT can onboard 211 miles worth of range in just 10 minutes.

Inside, the Zeekr 7GT is packed with the latest in-car tech. Its standard kit includes a 35.5-inch augmented reality head-up display, which works in tandem with a 13-inch driver instrument cluster. As expected, a large infotainment screen dominates the centre of the dashboard. Zeekr’s Assisted Drive safety suite includes automatic emergency braking, intelligent adaptive cruise control, and fingertip parking.
Zeekr claims that the 7GT’s vehicle dynamics have been tuned to European tastes as it seeks to challenge the hotly contested D-segment. As such, five drive modes are available, including snow and sport modes. When it comes to performance figures, the Zeekr 7GT boasts a supercar-worrying 0-62mph time of 3.3 seconds and a maximum speed of 130mph.

Under the skin, the Geely-owned Chinese brand has fitted the 7GT with a double-wishbone, five-link suspension for precise handling, along with large Privilege brakes with advanced cooling and anti-fade properties. When it comes to practicality, the Zeekr 7GT promises 456 litres of luggage space along with a ski storage hatch, roof rack, camping customisation, and advanced towing capabilities.
“Every element of the Zeekr 7GT is beautifully deliberate,” commented Gustaf Gunér, Zeekr’s head of brand design. “This is a car that exudes sporting style with an elegant silhouette and truly exquisite detailing, everywhere you look. A chameleon of experience, every detail of the car has been shaped by pure, unbridled passion for the driving experience.”

Founded in 2021 as Geely’s premium EV brand, Zeekr arrived in Europe in 2023 and sells its cars in Denmark, Germany, France and Norway. It will enter the UK market with the 7GT, but the exact date is unconfirmed. An “aggressive pan-European roll out” is planned for 2026.
Regarding Zeekr’s Euro expansion and what the 7GT means for the brand, Zeekr CEO, Lothar Schupet, said: “We are thrilled to bring our latest vehicle to the European market.

A true passion project, the 7GT represents our commitment as a high-end challenger brand to deliver high-level premium products to our customers, without losing focus on their fundamental drive – the thrill of the journey. This launch marks the start of a very exciting year of expansion for Zeekr in Europe with more products to come.”
Zeekr has yet to announce when order books for the 7GT will open and when deliveries will be made. Zeekr’s current European line-up comprises the 7X, the 001, and X.
