Citroën Racing to enter Formula E in 2025/26 season
Citroën has confirmed it will return to top-level motorsport by entering the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship from the upcoming 2025/26 season.
Citroën Racing, one of the most successful outfits in global motorsport history, will take to the all-electric grid from Season 12 in what the French marque describes as a “new challenge” that reflects its values and vision for sustainable mobility.
The move underscores the brand’s commitment to electrification and innovation, with Formula E positioned as a global showcase for responsible, forward-looking technologies.
Citroën highlighted the championship’s unique appeal: fully electric racing staged in city centres, attracting a young and connected international audience, and providing a platform for advancing the future of mobility.
Citroën Racing brings a formidable pedigree to the series. Its achievements span victories at Dakar, nine FIA World Rally Championship Drivers’ titles with Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena, eight WRC Manufacturers’ crowns, multiple FIA World Touring Car Championship triumphs and success in the FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup.
The entry into Formula E represents both a continuation of its storied motorsport legacy and a pivot toward electrified competition.
