E1 2026 calendar to kick off in Saudi Arabia in January
The second season of the all-electric E1 powerboat series will begin in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on January 23 2026.
The 2026 E1 calendar will take the series’ nine teams and 18 pilots around the globe to eight different locations. Following the Jeddah event, the European leg begins in April on Italy’s Lake Como. June sees E1 head to Dubrovnik in Croatia, which is then followed by a debut E1 event for Monaco in July.
The location for the fifth round of the 2026 E1 season in September has yet to be confirmed, but a sixth round will take place in Lagos, Nigeria. Miami will host the penultimate event of the year, while the season finale will be held for the first time in the Caribbean in the Bahamas.
E1 is the world’s sole fully-electric racing boat series to be sanctioned by the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), the international governing body for powerboating activities. As with Extreme E and the Extreme H World Cup, the E1 RaceBird boats are piloted by a male and female crew.
A number of them have carried over from the world of all-electric motorsport including 2019 World Rallycross champion, Timmy Hansen (pictured below) and former Extreme E driver, Catie Munnings.

The teams are owned by a number of high-level celebrities including Will Smith, Rafael Nadal, LeBron James, and Tom Brady. Upon its competitive debut in 2024, the E1 RaceBird became the world’s first foiling all-electric racing boat. Courtesy of an outboard electric motor supplied by Kriesel, the RaceBird produces 200bhp, which is managed by the pilot from the enclosed cabin.
Following the announcement of the 2026 E1 calendar, series co-founder, Alejandro Agag commented: “The 2026 E1 calendar marks an exciting new chapter for us. We’re rapidly establishing an exciting, truly global championship that combines cutting-edge electric innovation with iconic coastal cities and new markets. With incredible support from our team owners, we’re bringing the thrill of high-speed racing on water to new and existing fans across the world.”
Fellow co-founder and series CEO, Rodi Basso, added: “Our vision for E1 has always been to inspire change through competition. This calendar showcases that ambition – reaching more countries, engaging more fans, and continuing to demonstrate that electric marine mobility is the future. With every season, E1 is not only growing as a sport but showing what’s possible when sport drives sustainability forward.”
Following a successful 2025, E1 is now broadcast in over 140 territories worldwide. To view the 2026 E1 calendar in full, click here.
