Electric Car Grant sees Mini Countryman E price slashed by £3,750

The fully-electric Mini Countryman E is now available with a £3,750 discount after qualifying for the full UK Government Electric Car Grant (ECG).

The ECG sees the Countryman – Mini’s answer to the likes of the Kia EV3 and the Skoda Elroq – now priced from £29,255 for the entry-level Classic trim.

Next up is the Mini Countryman E Monochrome edition, which comes with blacked out wheels and a choice of either a black or white colour way. Thanks to the Electric Car Grant, its asking price has been cut to £29,555.

Sitting beneath the range-topping Sport is the Mini Countryman Exclusive, which comes with a more upmarket appearance and a £31,755 asking price. With its JCW-inspired design inside and out, the flagship Sport now starts at £32,955 with the ECG applied.

The Mini Countryman E is available with one choice of battery – a 64.7kWh unit. Its range, however, is dependent on the drivetrain. The single motor, front-wheel-drive car with 201bhp returns a 286-mile range from a full charge, while the twin motor, all-wheel drive ALL4 manages a slightly lesser 266 miles.

Alongside the Mini Countryman E, the Renault 4, Renault 5, and Alpine A290 were announced as qualifying for the full £3,750 Electric Car Grant. This brings the total number of cars eligible for the higher band 1 discount to eight.

As well as the Mini and the Renault Group cars, these are are Citroen e-C5 Aircross Long Range, the Ford Puma Gen-E, the Ford E-Tourneo Courier, and the all-new Nissan Leaf.

Following its introduction in July this year, the Electric Car Grant has already seen over 40,000 UK motorists take advantage to lower the cost of their next electric car.

During the recent Autumn Budget, Prime Minister Kier Starmer’s cabinet underlined its commitment to UK’s EV transition after Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced that – along with investing £200 million into public charging infrastructure – the Government will add an additional £1.3 billion to the ECG and extend it until 2030.
