Entrez vanman: All-electric Renault 4 van with 254-mile range now on sale
The Renault 4 EV is now available as a van, dropping its rear seats in favour of a plastic loading tray and lashing hooks.
Currently only available in France for €29,300 – roughly £25,000 before tax – the R4 van has a cargo capacity of 1,045 litres, a 345kg payload limit, plus a 1.2-metre total load and a 55-litre under-floor storage area. Therefore, the R4 van is geared more towards tradespeople, last-mile delivery drivers, rental firms, and business fleets.
When it comes to market-dependent options, Renault offers the Renault 4 van with a mesh bulkhead to separate the front two seats from the rear loading bay, a loading bay cover, and a cargo protection function that disables the opening of the rear windows and doors.

The front-wheel drive Renault 4 van comes in two battery sizes: an entry-level 40kWh unit producing 117bhp and a 191-mile WLTP range, and a range-topping 52kWh unit making 148bhp and returning 254 miles on a single charge.
Both versions have an onboard 11kW AC bi-directional charger, while the maximum charging speed for the 40kWh van is 80kW and 100kWh for the larger battery. Irrespective of battery size, both take 30 minutes to charge from 15-80% and have vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability as standard.
The R4 van is converted by by Qstomize at Renault’s Ampere ElectriCity plant in Mauberge, where the Renault 4 E-Tech crossover is built. The Renault 4 van is yet to be confirmed for the UK market, but has said it is still evaluating whether to bring it here.
In 2026, Renault will unveil its next-generation of mid-to-full-sized electric vans: the Trafic E-Tech, the Goalette E-Tech, and the Estafette E-Tech. Despite being names from Renault’s past, each has been designed from the ground-up as software-defined vehicle (SDV), riding on a dedicated 800V platform developed by Flexis, a joint project founded by the Renault Group, the Volvo Group, and the CMA, CGM Group.
