Skoda Felicia Fun pick-up makes comeback as EV

Skoda has revived its cult classic Felicia Fun pick-up as an full EV featuring the Czech brand’s new ‘Modern Solid’ design language.

As part of its 130th anniversary celebrations, the Mlada Boleslav-based carmaker has revived a series of iconic names from its back catalogue as EVs. To-date, it has brought back the Favorit as VW ID.3-sized hatchback, and its Slavia B motorcycle. Like the Felicia Fun EV, both follow the ‘Modern Solid’ aesthetic Skoda introduced with the Elroq towards the end of last year.

The original Felicia Fun was a flatbed pick-up based on the Felicia hatchback. Produced from 1998 to 2000, the “beach vibe-inspired” Felicia Fun gained cult status amongst Skoda enthusiasts with its daisy-style alloy wheels, second row of pop-up seats, and bright yellow paint job. Body cladding could be had in matching yellow, or an equally-lurid green or orange.

Penned by Skoda’s interior lead designer, Julien Petitseigneur, the Felicia Fun EV is based on the Skoda Vision 7S, a concept widely expected to reflect the upcoming all-electric version of the Skoda Kodiaq. To re-create the open bed of the original Felicia Fun, predecessor, Skoda did away with the Vision 7S’s second and third rows of seats.

While it features the ‘Tech Deck’ face synonymous with Skoda’s latest EVs, the 2025 Felicia Fun EV carries over the paint job of the original, while the pink rear lightbar and dashboard-wide touchscreen are complete with 1990s period graphics.

Like the Favorit and the Slavia B, Skoda has no plans to make the all-electric Felicia Fun a production vehicle. This makes sense, given just 4,216 examples of the original were sold during its two-year production run. However, enthusiasts of the Czech brand can look forward to the Vision O concept, which will debut at the upcoming Munich motor show.

The Vision O is almost certain to preview an all-electric Octavia set to arrive by the end of the decade. Like the Elroq, Enyaq, upcoming Epiq, and production version of the Vision 7S, the Vision O will be designed with the Modern Solid aesthetic.
